Digitalsmiths Named Technology
of the Year by CED
Entrepreneurial Excellence
Award Honors CEO Ben Weinberger and CTO Matt Berry For Innovative
Contextual Video Ad-Matching System
Raleigh-Durham, NC, (June 11, 2008)
– Digitalsmiths Corporation, a digital video search and contextual
ad-matching company, was awarded the “2008 Technology of the
Year” prize by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development
(CED) at CED’s 22nd annual Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards
on June 5 at the American Tobacco Historic District in Durham, NC.
Over 300 people attended the celebration to show their support for
North Carolina’s entrepreneurial community.
Digitalsmiths’ technology empowers online advertisers and
publishers to capitalize on the ongoing growth in broadband video,
rich Internet applications, and mobile and social media. According
to the Internet Advertising Bureau, these online ad revenue opportunities
exceeded $21 billion in 2007, and are expected to surpass $25 billion
in 2008.
Digitalsmiths was recognized by CED for its pioneering contributions
to online video content, advertising and publishing. Digitalsmiths’
offerings include VideoSense™, the video advertising industry’s
first completely automated suite of multi-platform contextual video
ad targeting solutions. In addition to VideoSense TM, the firms’
innovations include AdSafeTM and AdIQTM. With AdSafeTM, Digitalsmiths
ensures that advertisers\' brand and advertising messages will only
be seen adjacent to the most appropriate content. AdIQTM further
extends the value of contextual advertising by providing competitive
brand targeting capabilities.
“Amid the current boom in technological innovation, it is
truly an honor to be recognized by CED as a leader in the field,”
said Digitalsmiths CEO Ben Weinberger.
“I am very proud that our team’s incredible technological
talent has been singled out for this award,” added Matt Berry,
Chief Technology Officer at Digitalsmiths. “We have worked
hard to achieve a clear understanding of the market in order to
create a product that really drives results for advertisers.”
